Briefly about social engineering

Social engineering is a technique that attackers use to manipulate people to gain access to sensitive information, systems, or devices.

In cybersecurity, social engineering is one of the most effective methods of attacking information security.

Social engineering includes various methods, such as phishing, quidpro-coining (buying confidential information in exchange for cryptocurrency), skimming (theft of financial data from bank cards), "fake trust" techniques (for example, an attacker may introduce himself as an employee of the IT department and ask the user to provide a password or access to the system) and others.

To prevent social engineering attacks in cybersecurity, it is necessary to educate users on the basic principles of information security, such as not opening suspicious emails, not providing confidential information to intruders, and not clicking on suspicious links.

You can also use technical security measures such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to prevent intruders from intruding into your system.

But most importantly, people must be careful and attentive when handling confidential information and when working on the network, so as not to become a victim of social engineering in cybersecurity.
